Default Can I still play guild wars?

I only have 191 mb of RAM on my computer and my graphics card doesn't meet the requirements to play this game. Can I still play guild wars? If so, how much will it lag. If I can't, could you recomend any other online games that would work better on my computer?

If your graphics card isn't atleast up to Minimum par (like you use an integrated card) then the game will most of the time simply not run, because only newer cards have the features that are required to run the game.

Like old Intel Integrated cards lack a texturing feature that makes the game crash anytime you try to move things in the inventory. The game will run though on any FX5200 G-force card or better. With that amount of RAM you'd Lag uncontrollably though :\ not worth playing.

Better games you COULD play? No real ones in this exact genre. Diablo 2 is older and still RPG. Warcraft 3 pwns. Starcraft some love..Alot of Older games.

Would Tribes Vengeance or Neverwinter Nights work on my computer?

Yeah, MMOs with below minimum spec is a bad idea. NWN should work just fine though. Personally, I preferred the Baldur's gate, Icewind Dale, and Fallout series though.

If you don't already own the game, try downloading the client and testing it out during the Free Preview Event starting on July 28th.

I used to play GW on a comp that had a video card way below the minimum and dial up internet. Most of the time it worked pretty good for me. The only problem was, after about an hour or two of playing, the game would ranomly get a incredibly large lag spike and then I would get booted to the password login screen and it would say "dissconected from server" or something like that. Oh ya, and it took 3+ minutes to load places I have been to before and 5+ to load new areas. At least I was able to play GW still, and it was still fun.

BTW that comp was made in 2000ish and, if I remeber right, it had like a 5-10 mb video card (somewhere around there I think, I know it was below 20 at least ) and it had less than 100 mb of RAM so, unless your comp is worse than that (I very highly doubt u do since you have 191 RAM), you SHOULD be able to play. Its just might get the lag spikes I was talking about, but probably not as much.

P.S. Shouldn't this thread be in the technitions area or something?

My video card has 64 mb of video ram, video card 3d acceleration, and video HW transform & lighting. Gamespot's can you run it program says that it won't work though. Is it because of the kind of card I have (RADEON IGP 340M (RS200M AGP (0x4337))? Also, I am sorry for posting this in the wrong place. I am not familiar with this forum.

I'd suggest getting a new puter. Minimum GW spec puters are pretty cheap.

But if it's adventure and hack n slash you want, I'll second Baldur's Gate (all 4), I didn't fall in love with Icewind Dale. Two other games of the genre I'd highly recommend are Diablo 2 and Planescape: Torment.

Another option: many of us who pre-ordered the game were given free 48-hour (or something like that) trial keys. You could ask for one of those.

Because you stated an unusual number of 191 RAM, I am sure you are using an integrated card. 256 - 191 = 65. You already stated you have a 64Mb Ram card. Buy a mid-level card for around $50 or so and the game should work fine.

I am not sure if this will help much, but it is possible to run Guild Wars on a GeForce 2 while the minimum requirement for the game is a GeForce 3. It also has 64MB RAM, 3D Acceleration and HW Transform & Lighting just like the video card you have. It runs the game fine on minimum settings. Its possible your video card MIGHT run it, although i dont know for sure. I would reccomend you follow Sereng's advice and try the free event on july 28th(if they open it to anyone. they probably will.) and see if it runs it good enough, or get a new computer.

I have the same video card. Or similar. Mine is Radeon IGP 345M. My computer is a laptop (thus the mobile video card). I run all the graphics settings in the game at their lowest (or off) settings. I can occasionally turn up textures, but if a minion master with a flock comes near, I will seriously lag. Also, sometimes my video card crashes for no particular reason.

For my system RAM, I have 512MB. I find that guildwars seems to use about half of it. I think that unless you could get a memory upgrade, you will have problems. Look up your computer and see if you can buy a memory expansion. It'll help. I know my laptop can be expanded to 1GB (I just can't afford it).

EDIT: To clarify, my game runs fine, at the lowest settings with all other programs on my computer shut down.
